Topic – The AirAsia Way
Abstract: At the “Disrupt Or Be Disrupted” conference, Spencer will share insights on the AirAsia ABC way. Besides sharing his experience of what went on when AirAsia stepped foot into the digital era at a time where nobody else dared, he will also touch on how AirAsia makes use of the entire media ecosystem, encapsulating both online and offline media to provide customers with a holistic experience.
Profile: Spencer has been with AirAsia Berhad for a decade now. He has worn multiple hats by leading various departments within the organization and won awards while at it. Some of the awards include Best Asean Marketing and Promotional Campaign, Best Asean Airline Programme from the Asean Tourism Association (ASEANTA), Best Use of Out-Of-Home and Best Use of Activations/Events at the Malaysia Media Awards. He believes that rather than being managed, employees should grow and develop their skills through constant leadership. This is the culture at AirAsia. Putting the power in its people and empowering its teams, helps the company to grow the footprint of its business. With the backing of a solid work culture, it should come as no surprise that for several years, AirAsia has led the low cost scene with its innovative methods and give-aways that have enabled the carrier to be high up in the rankings.
